It's Week 5. Byes are here, injuries are piling up, and somebody in your league just dropped a starting quarterback. Perfect time to get weird.

Every player below is rostered in under 40% of ESPN leagues and grades well in our Week 5 model (snapshot Friday, 8 p.m. PT, PPR). "Illegal Motion Proj" is our projected PPR points for the week.

Quarterback streamers

Aaron Rodgers, Steelers (vs. IND) | 18% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 16.9

Yes, that Aaron Rodgers. He projects as a top-12 QB this week in our model, ahead of plenty of guys rostered in 90% of leagues. Indianapolis is one of the most generous QB matchups we track. He's the most obvious streamer on the board, and somehow he's still sitting there.

Geno Smith, Jets (vs. CLE) | 7% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 15.7

Geno's last three games average 16.8 fantasy points, up from his season mark of 14.9. Quietly consistent. In 2QB or superflex leagues, he's a must-add.

Cam Ward, Titans (vs. HOU) | 6% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 14.8

Houston's pass defense has been the most generous in football to receivers by our numbers. That has to help somebody throwing the ball. Ward is a deep-league dart throw with real upside.

Receivers

Darius Cooper, Eagles (at JAX) | 8% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 8.7

Here's the one we like most. DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley are both out, per CBS Sports. That's a lot of touches leaving the Philly offense, and Cooper's recent form (9.6 points per game over his last three) was already trending up. Opportunity is king. Add him now.

Tre Tucker, Raiders (at NE) | 33% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 11.3

Tucker is averaging 13.2 PPR points over his last three, up 2.1 from his season pace, and New England grades as a soft WR matchup in our model. He's a legit flex play, not just a stash.

Roman Wilson, Steelers (vs. IND) | 28% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 11.0

If you like Rodgers this week (and you should), stack him. Wilson's last three games average 13.1 points.

Isaac TeSlaa, Lions (at ARI) | 3% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 8.4

Deep-league special. Arizona is one of the easiest WR matchups in our model, and Detroit's offense spreads it around enough for a WR4 to pop. If you're in a 14-team league, this is your guy.

Running back flier

Keaton Mitchell, Chargers (vs. DEN) | 25% rostered | Illegal Motion Proj 9.1

The Chargers are banged up everywhere (more on that in our Chargers injury breakdown), and Denver grades as one of the friendlier RB matchups in our model. Mitchell's last-three average is up to 10 points. Flex-worthy in deeper formats.

The Thursday night lesson

If you needed a reminder that the waiver wire matters, Thursday night delivered one. Tampa Bay's Bucky Irving ran for a career-best 165 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs' 24-16 win in Dallas, and rookie QB Jalon Daniels went 19-of-25 for 189 yards and a score, per the AP. Rookie quarterbacks with clean, efficient games tend to show up on waiver wires a week later. Keep an eye on him.

One to avoid

Baltimore pass-catchers. With Lamar Jackson ruled out (ankle) and Tyler Huntley starting Sunday night at Atlanta, per NFL.com and ESPN, we're lowering expectations for every Baltimore pass-catcher. Rashod Bateman looks interesting on paper (Atlanta is a soft WR matchup in our model), but QB downgrades matter. Proceed with caution.

Our take (opinion): the managers who win leagues in October aren't the ones who drafted best. They're the ones who stream smartest. Grab Rodgers, grab Cooper, and go to bed happy.
